What are NetSuite SuiteApps?

NetSuite SuiteApps are specialized applications, integrations, and enhancements designed to extend the functionality of your NetSuite ERP. These solutions are developed either by NetSuite directly or by certified partners within the SuiteCloud Developer Network (SDN).

SuiteApps allow organizations to strengthen their ERP with industry-specific tools, automation capabilities, compliance solutions, and custom business workflows without leaving the NetSuite ecosystem.

As a company grows and expands, certain solutions are required to keep up with demand. Instead of shopping outside of your NetSuite ERP, you can go directly to SuiteApps and add different products and services to cover the ever-changing needs of your organization.

Similar to apps available for free or for purchase on your Apple or Android phone, which are downloaded based on the need of the user, these NetSuite applications are distributed and supported by NetSuite to help you evolve your operational processes.

NetSuite SuiteApp Marketplace

To shop around for the different solutions, users can head over to the SuiteApp Marketplace within NetSuite.

If you know what product you’re looking for, you can use the search bar to find the company; otherwise, you can easily filter your search based on country, industry, language, and business needs.

With hundreds of applications to choose from, you are sure to find the right customization or configuration to support your business.

Most SuiteApps can be found and subsequently installed within NetSuite itself. Navigate from Customization → SuiteBundler → Search & Install Bundles to get access to different products. You can also easily search for your app within the SuiteApp Marketplace, which is located at the top bar of your NetSuite instance.

It’s important to note that only NetSuite Administrators and users with permission to install NetSuite Apps will be able to move forward with adding a new solution from the marketplace.

Types of SuiteApps

At its base there are two types of SuiteApps: NetSuite Apps and Third-Party Apps. All are available within the marketplace and solve the different challenges that businesses face.

On the other hand, to learn more about third-party applications, searching NetSuite’s marketplace is the best way to discover the many options.

In order to find the right app for your business that isn’t part of NetSuite’s current applications, you can use the filters and also have a look at the different reviews left by current and past customers to get a better understanding of how the product will work for you.

Many partners offer accounting software that accentuates NetSuite’s current offerings, whether it’s tax organization or controlled auditing.
